On Friday, 2 of 8 chosen teachers will have to either shave or dye their hair. Of the 8 staff members, 4 of them are male and the other 4 are female. They all have their reasons for participating but the majority of the staff selected is nervous to see if they win. The winners will be chosen by students based off of how much money is under their name for the fundraiser. Whichever 2 teachers raise the most will have to either shave or dye their hair.

One of the reasons they are willing to participate is the idea of change for them. Mrs. Murphy, principal at Highland High, said, “No way was I shaving my head. I’ve always wanted to dye my hair and this seemed like a great excuse”. Since she has never colored her hair before, Mrs. Murphy is planning on dyeing her hair either pink or blue.

However one of the male candidates, Mr. Boyle, is planning in shaving his head if he wins. Mr. Boyle says that he has been willing to shave his head from the start. “I feel like it’s a great opportunity to raise money for a good cause, and if my students wanting me bald can raise money, then why not?”.

All of the faculty chosen says that they wanted to participate because they are always willing to help with fundraisers in our school. Mrs. Rogers, a sophomore and junior english teacher, says, “I love supporting students and their fundraisers! So anything to help, I am happy to do”.

The rest of the candidates are excited to be supporting the fundraiser but a few of them still have some nerves about changing their hair for potentially the rest of the year.
