Bostyn Brown, a ninth grader here at Highland, is known for her phenomenal dancing. She was on the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance” last year, and made it onto the Varsity Pom team this year. When asked about what she thought about making Varsity as a freshman, Brown replied, “It was really cool because I was expecting to make JV, because varsity’s all seniors and juniors, and it was really cool since I’m a freshman.”

Brown never wanted to dance; her mom put her into dance class when she was six years old. After doing it for a while, she started to like it more and more, and decided to stick with it. “Dance is super hard. It’s a lot of dedication and you have to put your heart into it.” said Brown.

In 2016, she decided to audition for the TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance.” She was around  professionals and the cameras were always rolling. The experience was hard for her because she didn’t get a very much time to practice. Despite not making it to the end, she is super excited for high school.

Brown is thrilled to be on the Varsity Pom Team and being able to do what she loves.  It will be exciting to see what new experiences and triumphs Brown will pursue while here at Highland.
